Itinerary
DAY 1 – Thursday 12 May | Arrive Bordeaux. Tour Vineyards and indulge in tastings. Les Sources de Caudalie
DAY 2 – Friday 13 May | Bordeaux & St Emilion. Walking tour of Bordeaux, exploring historical architecture. Experience an unforgettable dinner at La Grand’Vigne. Les Sources de Caudalie.
DAY 3 – Saturday 14 May | Bordeaux. Cross the Garonne River to visit Cadillac. Enjoy a traditional lunch followed by Château de Roquetaillade. Les Sources de Caudalie
DAY 4 – Sunday 15 May | Route de Médoc. Today’s excursion will introduce you to a traditional wine-growing land, filled with well renowned wines. Discover the magnificent landscape of the “Route du Médoc”. Les Sources de Caudalie
DAY 5 – Monday 16 May | Bordeaux to La Rochelle. Visit the amphitheatre at Saintes and enjoy a boat ride on the Charente River. Visit one of the nearby distilleries before continuing on to La Rochelle. Residence de France.
DAY 6 – Tuesday 17 May | La Rochelle. Visit the town and take in the beautiful landscape and architecture. Residence de France.
DAY 7 – Wednesday 18 May | La Rochelle to Brittany. Drive north into Brittany to the town of Vannes, historical Old Town to explore which includes a fine cathedral. Later visit Carnac before arriving at the Chateau. Château de Locguénolé
DAY 8 – Thursday 19 May | Brittany. Pont-Aven, a lovely village, formerly an artists’ colony. Later continue a short distance to visit Château de Keriolet, built in the 19th century. Continue to Quimper for lunch. The town has many fine medieval buildings and is also known for its pottery. Château de Locguénolé
DAY 9 – Friday 20 May | Brittany. Travel to Dinan today, one of the prettiest villages in France; it has cobbled streets, ancient timber-framed houses and you can enjoy lunch in one of the restaurants down by the quay. La Maison des Armateurs.
DAY 10 – Saturday 21 May | Brittany. A morning exploring the fortified ‘pirates’ city’ of St Malo before driving to the picturesque fishing village of Cancale for a beautiful lunch. La Maison des Armateurs.
DAY 11 – Sunday 22 May | Explore the city of Dol followed by lunch at La Mère Poulard, renowned for its omelettes. Then later to Port-en-Bessin. Chateau d’Audrieu.
DAY 12 – Monday 23 May | A visit to the D-Day Beaches, Gold and Juno followed by a visit to Bayeux to view the Bayeux Tapestry. Visit the town’s cathedral & local producer of cider. Chateau d’Audrieu.
DAY 13 – Wednesday 25 May | Normandy. A day enjoying some picturesque Norman villages. Later visit Beuvron-en-Auge which has been declared ‘one of the most beautiful villages of France’. Chateau d’Audrieu.
DAY 14 – Wednesday 25 May | Depart Port-en-Bessin – Paris. Transfer privately to Charles de Gaulle Airport for your flight home.
