We begin and end our tour in Ålesund, a port town on the west coast of Norway, at the entrance to the Geirangerfjord, known for its art nouveau architectural style and panoramic views of the surrounding archipelago and pristine fjords.
Over 7 days we will explore these scenic fjords by private boat, enjoying the gastronomic delights of the region and staying in beautiful, historic accommodation.
Travel will be with a small, personally escorted J&H Tour group
This tour stands alone but is designed to be enjoyed in conjunction with Bavaria, Germany (6 to 16 May 2020) and A Tuscan Villa Experience (16 to 23 May 2020)
Itinerary
Day 1: Mon 25 May:
ALESUND
On arrival you will be transferred to your hotel on the harbour. Time to stroll around the village and return to the hotel for a dinner of local delights with matching wine. Meals: D
Day 2: Tue 26 May:
NORANGSFJORDEN
Breakfast at Hotel and a further chance to explore Alesund. Late morning we board our boat to beautiful Norangsfjorden. Lunch on the way at a local pub on the magnificent Hjorundfjord surrounded by views of the Sunnmore Alps.
Check-in to the historic Union Hotel. The holiday destination of European Royalty for more than a Century. Time to stroll the local area and then a settle into a beautiful three-course dinner with matching wine. Meals: B L D
Day 3: Wed 27 May:
SKODJE
After breakfast, transfer from hotel to Skodge.
Lunch at a local restaurant and visit a furniture factory.
Check-in to your Hotel and a chance to explore and relax in the stunning surrounds. Dinner at Hotel. Meals B D
Day 4: Thu 28 May:
SKODJE
Breakfast at hotel and then later in the morning visit to a local farm where our hosts supply us with an unbelievable meal and beverages. Meals: B L
Day 5: Fri 29 May:
Breakfast and transfer to Alesund Airport and flight to Oslo for a two night stay. Meals: B
Day 6: Sat 30 May:
Breakfast and a day exploring Oslo. Meals: B L
Day 7: Sun 31 May:
